I scream, you scream, we all scream for National Ice Cream Cone Day! There’s no waffling about it, on September 22 you’ll find us at any one (or all!) of our favorite Midtown Ala Moana spots, cooling off with an ice-cold treat.
If you need an excuse to chill out, check out some of our favorite ice cream shops in the Midtown neighborhood.
Malu: Though this shop just opened earlier this month in the old Samsung Plaza, it has already made a mark with a delicious dessert-packed menu of milk teas, floats and of course, luscious soft serve. Their taiyaki cups (a Japanese fish-shaped cake cup) is a fun twist on a traditional cone and comes with your choice of chocolate, caramel or strawberry sauce.
Thrills: Nothing is quite as thrilling as an insta-worthy treat to show off on your feed. Located on Piikoi Street, Thrills offers guests a chance to cool off with soft serve flavors like ube, matcha and more swirled into cute cones with unique flavors such as charcoal (trust us, it’s more delicious than it sounds) and a new pink cone!
Foodland Farms: A trend popping up in ice cream is the bubble waffle ice cream cone. And there is no better place to grab yours than at Foodland Farms in Midtown Ala Moana. Each cone comes topped with two scoops of Il Gelato gelato and allows you to choose two toppings, one sauce and an unlimited number of garnishes!
Charmy Hawaii: Fresh from the streets of Harajuku, Charmy Hawaii’s cones are the most expensive of the bunch but have a cult-like following thanks to their kawaii (cute) toppings. Choose from a selection of super cute, handmade toppings (think pink chocolate unicorns to fresh shortbread cookies) all made in house. You’ll be charmed too, we’re sure of it.
