Ramen Spots That are Steaming Up Midtown Ala Moana

May 7th, 2019

There’s an endless menu of places to dine around Midtown Ala Moana, but if you’re in the mood for slurping some noodles–ramen is always a soup-er choice. Here are a few of our favorite ramen spots that neighborhood noodle lovers are raving about…

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka
Indulge in traditional Japanese ramen–without ever leaving Midtown Ala Moana–at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. World-renowned for their fresh noodles and tender pork cheeks, every dish (or bowl) offers a taste of Hokkaido, rich in history and flavor. Located off Kaheka Street next to Don Quijote, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Manichi Ramen
What originally started as a gyoza cart in Kyushu, Japan–Manichi Ramen has migrated to the islands and been serving Midtown Ala Moana with delicious ramen since 1953. Driven by their motto, “One heart, one soul, one bowl,” this ramen haven is known for their signature tonkotsu broth, which takes six hours to make each day. And if you’re feeling a little peckish order up some of their award-winning Neginegi gyoza, the perfect appetizer and pairing for a bowl of hot noodles.

Ramen Gashoken
Conveniently hidden in Shirokiya Japan Village Walk, Ramen Gashoken is one of our favorite choices to stop in and slurp up when shopping at Ala Moana Center. Best of all, you can pair your tonkotsu and specialty ramen, like their yummy pesto ramen, with an ice cold glass of beer from their beer garden, or dishes from any one of Shirokiya’s dozens of popular vendors. Ramen Gashoken is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Sakura Ramen
A Midtown Ala Moana hotspot for Japanese cuisine, Sakura Ramen is blooming with tasty katsu, gyoza, and ramen. Open Sunday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Sakura Ramen offers a more luxurious twist on traditional ramen dishes with menu options like garlic-butter lobster ramen and their shabu shabu beef curry ramen.
