Best Brunch Spots in Midtown Ala Moana

January 29th, 2019

No matter what you’re in the mood for Midtown Ala Moana is full of dining choices to fill your plate and appetite. So where do we go for that midday pick me up, when we’re not sure if we’re in the mood for breakfast or lunch? While it was a difficult task — we narrowed down a few of Midtown Ala Moana’s most egg-celent brunch spots.

Bread & Butter

Plated right in the heart of Midtown Ala Moana, Bread & Butter is an artisan-inspired cafe combining fresh ingredients. In the kitchen, Chef Masa Gushiken whips up treats like their Fruity Pebble Pancakes or–our personal favorite–a most claw-some Lobster Roll. And with $29.95 bottomless mimosas available every day from 8am-3pm, this farm-to-table cafe is a hard to pour… errr, pass over.

Eggs n Things

From their Pineapple Plantation Pork Chops & Eggs to their special Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast, Eggs n Things has everything and then some to fill your brunch plate. This eatery is a favorite amongst local residents and is conveniently located in the center of Midtown Ala Moana. Stop by for breakfast, but prepared to arrive early! It’s such a hot ticket that there is almost always a wait.

Island Brew Coffeehouse

Whether it’s a shopping break turned brunch date, or you’re just looking for the perfect place to catch up with friends, there’s so much to choose from at this island-inspired cafe. Don’t be deceived by its name, this coffeehouse is brewing more than just award-winning Hawaii coffees and tropical fruit teas. Shop till you drop and then break for brunch with their fresh Acai bowls, avocado toast, or fresh fruit smoothies, tucked right next door to Bloomingdales on the top level of Ala Moana Center.

Like Like Drive Inn

A staple among island residents and a must-try destination for out-of-state visitors, Midtown Ala Moana is home to the original Like Like Drive Inn. Just look for the big neon sign and stop by to enjoy classic island favorites like a banana hot cake sandwich, fried rice or a steaming bowl of saimin (which sure hits the spot after a long night singing karaoke!). The best part? They’re open seven days a week, for your midnight or mid-afternoon brunch fix.

Signature dessert waffles inspired by red velvet cake, smores and chantilly are only the beginning of this tasty story. Yogurstory is a popular hot spot amongst locals, and well-known for their local brunch favorites like the Prime Rib Loco Moco, Hurricane Rice Bowl and Ube Pancakes. If you want to enjoy a more leisurely meal, ask for a table upstairs which tends to be a little more quiet and a great spot to enjoy a quiet conversation or simply savor your meal.
