37th Okinawan Festival

August 31 - September 1

The 37th Annual Okinawan Festival returns to Midtown Ala Moana from August 31 to September 1, 2019. The annual event recently made the move to the Hawaii Convention Center, which means the more than 40,000 participants can escape Hawaii’s summer heat as they soak up the Okinawan culture at one of Hawaii’s top ethnic festivals. Presented by the Hawaii United Okinawa Association you’ll want to save your appetite for all of  the traditional Okinawan delicacies like chocolate-dipped andagi, tasty andadogs, okidogs and more. Participants can look forward to lots of live entertainment, family and kids activities, cultural booths, bon dancing and much more! Admission is $2 per person and make sure to bring cash since they don’t accept credit cards! The event runs on August 31, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on September 1, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
